Spacious en-suite family and double rooms in a large house on the southern fringe of St Austell town centre, close to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is secure parking at the rear of the b&b. Breakfast is served in the dining room with a choice of Continental or full English, using local and free-range products where possible.
St. Austell is ideally situated for exploring the Cornish coastline and visiting major attractions such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The town is also close to major trunk roads, A30 and A38, plus the London - Penzance main line gives a regular rail service. Newquay Airport is about half an hour's drive. Being one of the largest towns in Cornwall St. Austell has all the facilities you would expect, including Bowling Alley, 5-Screen Cinema and good pubs that sell local food. |

Charlestown
Charlestown, a Conservation Area of special local importance and boasts a Post Office Stores, two Pubs each serving bar and restaurant meals.There is a Bistro built above the Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre and a fine gourmet restaurant. Either side of the village over the coast path lies Carlyon Bay to the East, and to the West the pretty beach at Porthpean. Three Golf Courses lie within two miles. A variety of old classic boats are usually tied-up in the harbour where repairs and refits are carried out in traditional ways. |

The Eden Project Bed & Breakast at St Austell
The world famous Eden Project is only four miles from the accommodation. Much publicised, it has been described as the eighth wonder of the world and is now an international visitor attraction. The Eden Project was established as one of the landmark Millennium projects in the UK to mark the year 2000 and is structured as an educational charitable trust. The project is still growing.The 50 metre deep crater has become home to thousands of important and beautiful plants. Three of the world's climate zones ("Biomes") have been chosen for interpretation: The Humid Tropics (Rainforests and Tropical Islands) and the Warm Temperate regions (the Mediterranean, South Africa & California) are contained within the two giant conservatories that have already captured the public imagination. During the summer months there are night time open-air concerts which include many well known artistes. The ticket for concerts usually entitles entry to the project during the day of the concert or the following day. |
Nearby Fowey and Mevagissey
The nearby village of Fowey (5 miles) with its picturesque harbour and ferries to the villages of Polruan and Bodinnick has many restaurants and eating places. The Daphne De Maurier festival is based in and around Fowey in the month of May. The historic fishing port of Mevagissey is only 6 miles away with its harbour dating back to 1774. A full range of local fish can be seen in the aquarium based in the old lifeboat house. Mevagissey is a lively working harbour with much of the haul, including skate and lobster being served in the waterside pubs and restaurants.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan
The famous Lost Gardens of Heligan are only a short drive from your accommodation. The BBC Gardener's World described Heligan as "The nation's favourite garden." The gardens extend to some 80 acres and was formerly the Tremayne family seat. Now the site of the largest garden restoration in Europe, the extraordinary plant collection together with exotic glasshouses and mild Cornish climate make it a popular tourist attraction. During the the Great War the gardens gradually went to sleep although basic maintenance was undertaken to the grounds around the house.
